Elijah Atchison, III is asked by a dragon, who has been on Earth studying humans for nine thousand years, to prepare humankind for an invasion by thousands of dragons seeking temporary refuge because their home planet of Koron is on the verge of destruction. They choose Elijah because he is a journalist, unknown on his own account but the grandson of a world renowned journalist of the sixties.
